About us
Are you conducting research at KIT and have an exciting topic or concrete research results? But you don't know if and, if so, what can be done with them? Then you've come to the right place!
Together with you, we will embark on a journey of discovery and identify ways in which you can exploit the full potential of your research and, above all, ways that suit you, your personality, and your goals. With our innovative approach, we focus on practical, project-based learning.
Contact us for a non-binding consultation and we will show you the opportunities that your research can offer.

Current projects
HAFIS – Helmholtz Academy for Intrapreneurship
HAFIS is a Helmholtz Transfer Academy jointly conceived and implemented by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Society for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, and the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf. We want researchers to recognize and seize opportunities to put their research into practice. This is how outstanding research results find their way into society and the economy.
In our interdisciplinary program, participants work with coaches on their own projects, acquire methodological knowledge, put together a team, and benefit from exchanges with experts from society and industry. The researchers develop their own projects and broaden their perspective on the opportunities for research to make an impact. Through collaboration with various Helmholtz centers and their partner organizations, the research topics also gain visibility beyond the scientific community. Most importantly, however, each participant achieves initial prototype results during the program.
InnoSuper – Innovation by Supervising
Mentors are important sources of inspiration in the development of young talent.
As a mentor in the scientific, technical, and infrastructural areas, you play a decisive role in promoting our talent and junior staff, thereby contributing to the innovative strength of our centers—a varied and challenging task. Our three-part training program for mentors provides you with in-depth knowledge in the field of transfer and innovation. Learn to recognize and promote the transfer potential of your team and strengthen your role as a driving force in research and development!
Become part of the transfer community and share your knowledge with your junior staff. The InnoSuper program is open to all specialists and managers who work in a supervisory role at one of the participating Helmholtz centers – FZJ, KIT, HZDR, and GFZ.
Our Partners
Together we can achieve a lot more. That's why we've brought some partners and sponsors on board to support us in implementing our initiative.
Helmholtz
As a research university, KIT is part of the Helmholtz Association. The Helmholtz Association aims to address long-term research interests of the state and society and to preserve and optimize the foundations of human life. To this end, 18 scientific-technical and medical-biological research centers have joined forces. They address important and urgent challenges facing society, science, and industry through strategic, programmatic, and cutting-edge research in key areas.
KIT Graduate School ENZo
The ENZo Graduate School aims to provide the next generation of researchers with the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills they need to work independently on practical projects that can make a tangible contribution to the transformation of the energy system. Embedded in the diverse technological and scientific resources of the KIT Energy Center, ENZo offers doctoral students a unique environment for their professional and personal development.
KIT-Gründerschmiede
We work closely with the KIT-Gründerschmiede, which bundles all activities related to start-ups and entrepreneurship at KIT. It is the first port of call for those interested in technology-driven start-ups in particular and acts as an advisor and accelerator for innovative business ideas in key future fields such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, mobility, and energy. The aim is to accompany start-ups in every phase of their development with suitable offers and actively support them in building high-performance companies. In addition to start-up consulting, the range of services includes funding advice, investments, and networking events.
KIT Foundation
Excellent science requires sustainable support – for outstanding research, excellent teaching, a globally oriented culture of innovation, and a vibrant academic life. With this understanding, private individuals and companies have jointly established the KIT Foundation. The KIT Foundation promotes the valuable work of scientists at KIT, supports students, and implements outstanding projects.
