Becoming climate neutral through play - ENZo at EFFEKTE 2023

Every two years, the EFFEKTE science festival in Karlsruhe invites visitors from young to old to delve deeper into a wide variety of scientific topics. maKeIT was also present this year in cooperation with the KIT graduate school "Enabling Net Zero".

Germany has set itself the Germany the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2045 as part of the energy transition. However, we can only achieve this as a society if we all roll up our sleeves and get involved. But where is the best place to start as an individual or in your own neighborhood? Which methods are really helpful in minimizing greenhouse gas emissions?

What is becoming increasingly clear as we tackle the tasks ahead of us: We need people to help us understand the very complex connections between our actions and the global climate. Not just for adults. The research team "Watts next?" has spent the past few months developing a parlor game for people aged 14 and older, which introduces our energy system in a playful way and explores ways to successfully implement the energy transition. Now it it was introduced to interested citizens at this year's EFFEKTE festival.
